グラミー賞の『最優秀メタル・パフォーマンス賞』は、第31回年次グラミー賞（1990）から作られた賞です。
ＨＲ/ＨＭ全盛期とも言える80年代にこの賞がなかったのがとても残念ですが、それでも世紀を超えて今も授与されている賞です。
