1959年から始まったグラミー賞の各カテゴリの中では新しい賞と言えます。

 

伝統的なゴスペルの分野であればソロアーティスト、デュオ、グループ、その他のコラボレーションなどは問わず、シングル曲ではなくアルバムに贈られます。
