最優秀トラディショナルR&Bパフォーマンス賞（Best Traditional R&B Performance）は1999年に初めて授与されました。
2002年までは、アルバムだけがノミネートされ、現在はシングルまたはトラックだけがノミネートされています。

 

1999年から2002年は最優秀トラディショナルR&Bボーカルアルバム（Best Traditional R&B Vocal Album）、2003年から2011年は最優秀トラディショナルR&Bヴォーカル・パフォーマンス（Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance）として授与され、2012年からは現在の形になっています。
